Equifax has reported that approximately 100,000 Canadians' personal information has been leaked in their massive data breach first reported by Equifax on September 7th. The Equifax Canada website has been updated to address the issue saying that the investigation is ongoing and the personal information that may have been leaked includes name, address, Social Insurance Number, and in some cases even credit card numbers.
The Office of the Privacy Commission of Canada is now conducting their own investigation and has urged Equifax to find a way to inform Canadians if they are impacted by the breach.
