Larry Keating to Present at the
11th Annual Forum on Privacy Law & Compliance

Panel to teach critical strategies for leveraging new technology while promoting compliance

Toronto, Ontario – October 30th, 2013 – Larry Keating, president and CEO of NPC, the leader in secure managed computing solutions, will present at the 11th Annual Forum on Privacy Law & Compliance on November 7, 2013.  Larry joins John Russo, Vice-President, Legal Counsel & Chief Privacy Officer of Equifax Canada and Robert Fleig, Director, Assistant General Counsel of Capital One Bank to lead the discussion “Cybercrime and Identity Theft: Protecting against Your Organization’s Complicity in Fraud.”

Hosted by The Canadian Institute, the forum aims to provide practical knowledge for attendees to benefit from advanced technologies while proactively mitigating their risk and ensuring organization-wide compliance.  Along with John and Robert, Larry will discuss such issues as IT solutions for identity theft prevention, best practices for responding to security breaches and lessons learned from the financial industry in managing and mitigating risk.

Studies commissioned by Norton/Symantec and the Federal Privacy Commissioner reveal that only a third of companies have processes in place to deal with security and privacy breaches, though Canadian companies fear the reputational, financial and continuity issues of such breaches that can severely impact their business.  This forum will cover topics to assist organizations in responding to data breaches, security issues to look for when sourcing cloud service providers and steps to take to respond to and minimize cybercrime and identity theft.
